This Disney project was shot with a 360 VR rig that was edited in post to give it the tiny world look. The work flow of production and filming however works the same way that we plan to shoot this upcoming project.

Dam Repair

The Dam Repair sees to it that you get to go on a thrilling ride down the side of the dam that is in need of repairs. Your fellow VR CoWorker will guide you through the steps of the dam and its history. Finally, you yourself will get to go through the dam and see the originally built foundation to conclude the repairs, all while learning the rich history behind it.

Fish Herding

Fish Herding brings to you an interactive experience in the water canals, by-passing the water and getting straight to the seeing the fish swim by and how they interact with their new found ecosystem.

Lineman Repair

The Lineman Repair starts off during the night while monsoon season is tearing through. You and your team get a distress call marking that a powerline has been taken out, and you and your team must go and fix it. You are taken on a wild helicopter ride, and dropped down hanging by the powerline, where your VR partner will walk you through the process of repair.

SRP 360 Experiences

Thank you for exploring the world of VR with us. It is truly exciting to be able to share our findings and work together on a project that will redefine the SRP experience. We will take you there, guided by a vibrant story and unique experiences that will transport hearts and minds.

We have given this process a lot of collective thought and want to lay out our findings to you to best explain the process and set expectations for the approach we will outline below. Over the last two days, we've created a prototype working demo and have discussed our methods with leading professionals in AZ and throughout the world. In our approach, we will enhance the production quality everywhere and show you how we keep it mindful of the budget to build and expand these moments in the future.

Proof of Concept

Confidence is key. In order to assure ourselves and your team that we can implement a superb workflow for this project, we made a minimum viable product version using our existing and over-nighted hardware. For this, we repurposed the 360 camera we use to take HDRI maps for CG integration and recorded 360 video. The stitching happens in the camera and it is a simple process to render as a high-quality stitched final. No manual process.

Hardware

Our camera, the Theta S 360 camera. We believe it is the best consumer 360 camera. It has ease of use with it's unibody design and two lenses back-to-back. It self-stitches and It has direct support in Adobe, Google, and others.

We over-nighted the Google-Cardboard-Approved Owl.

Our iPhone 6S Plus provides the apps and screen real-estate to make it come together.

The latest versions of Adobe software come with some VR support built-in. We can edit, playback to headsets, and reposition. Titles can be generated in After Effects as well as composite-work.

Lets go beyond the basics. We think the experiences can be enhanced to spectacular result! We plan to light our scenes and remove any visible set equipment in post. Bring on the sky replacements and all manner of enhancements. Lets to 3D type, color correction, and 3D sound design. Lets make an experiences like no other.

The video below was made by one of the rental providers and is one of the best overviews for the operation of the camera. I have put in an estimate with a couple of Southwest providers based out of California.

Compositing

After effects can do most of the heavy lifting, but for the truly unique, we have VR tools in Nuke. A quarter rental later, and we can do Film Quality work and tackle anything we can imagine.

Production Experience

This is one of the best videos showcasing how light and effective the crew can be. Video village consists of a couple of MacPros, A Black Magic Deck, a broadcast monitor, and lots of VR Headsets. Perfect for showcasing lots of scenarios.
